Edwards Interfaith Chapel and Community Center receives generous donations from the Community to complete Phase I! Facility available for Rent!

The Edwards Interfaith Chapel and Community Center announced today that it will finish Phase I of the building due to the generosity of the community.  Over $10 million dollars was raised since the capital campaign began 5 years ago and over the past several weeks members of the community helped finish out the remaining contributions.   About half of the interior of the building was finished in the initial contract for Phase I.  The board did not want to proceed with the rest of the interior until it received sufficient cash and pledges to finish the remainder of Phase I.

"We always knew this project would be completed in Phases but we had no idea we would be able to finish Phase I so quickly." said Steve Baird, Eagle Valley Religious Foundation Board member and Chair of the Capital Campaign.  "I am so grateful to the many people who came forward in the just the past few weeks to help us to make the critical decision to complete all of Phase I."

The part of phase I of the building which has been completed includes the great room, atrium, A/V room, kitchen and several gathering areas.  The remainder of the Phase which will be completed by February includes a nursery, preschool classroom, study, library, 4 classrooms and several additional gathering spaces.

In addition to the generosity of individuals in the community, B&B Excavating generously donated a $95,000 gift of completing the parking lot ahead of schedule in Phase I of the project.  B&B Excavating is a leader of primary construction materials and horizontal construction services in Eagle County.  They provide a majority of the sand and gravel, asphalt, and ready-mix concrete materials in the community.  "It was our pleasure to help with the completion of the expanded parking lot for this project; it is a beautiful building and will be a tremendous addition to the community." said Tom Lyons, General Manager of B&B Excavating.

The Center has already been put to good use hosting events, dinners for the search and rescue teams, clergy meetings, Thursday night community suppers and more.

The facility is available for rent for events, weddings, business and group meetings and other activities.  The administrator, Margie Ciaccio can be reached at JLIB_HTML_CLOAKING or by calling 970-926-3388.
