A third interfaith chapel is getting closer to becoming a reality. The final beam will be placed atop of the first phase of the chapel on Wednesday, March 31 at 4 pm on the site of the new building on the south side of Highway 6, two miles west of Edwards. Leaders of the four member congregations as well as guests will gather to celebrate this milestone. Members of the community are also invited.
"This is such an exciting event; we have been hard at work raising money and building this wonderful place and it is now that much closer to being completed", says Father Brooks Keith of the Episcopal Church of The Transfiguration. "This effort is a result of very dedicated people with a true vision of the future of the interfaith community here in the valley, I am so proud to be a part of it", says Don Donnalley, President of the Eagle Valley Religious Foundation (EVRF) and member of Mt. of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
The event will begin at 4pm with words from the leaders of each of the congregations served by this chapel: Episcopal Church of The Transfiguration, Mt. of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Covenant Presbyterian Church and B'Nai Vail Jewish Congregation. Guests and members of the community are encouraged to come and hear more about the site, learn about the plans and be a part of this interfaith coalition serving the expanding Vail Valley. There will be light appetizers and drinks served following the ceremony.
